MLB The Show 26's Aug. 28 roster update adds eight Live Series cards, changes 27 listed positions and records 28 attribute changes. It does not move any card into a new rarity tier, so there are no new Diamond or Gold cards from this update.
Quick answer: The new cards are A.J. Vukovich, Blake Adams, Kade Anderson, Mason Adams, Luis Vázquez, Logan Driscoll, Andrew Sears and Braxton Roxby. Kade Anderson joins the Mariners as a 63 OVR starting pitcher.
The official Aug. 28 roster update is Roster Update 21. Its player-facing changes are concentrated in Live Series depth: new cards, role changes and a small set of attribute or overall adjustments.
Which Live Series cards are new?
All eight additions enter as Common Live Series cards. That does not make them a new collection reward path or a rarity change, but it does put new player items into the current roster pool.

What changed at the top of the roster?
The official list has 28 entries with an attribute or overall adjustment. There are nine overall changes in that group, but no rarity changes. The two highest-rated cards on the list are Nick Kurtz, who remains an 86 OVR Diamond after a five-point control change, and Bryce Miller, who remains an 85 OVR Diamond after a five-point control increase to 82.
| Player | Team | Change | Current OVR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nick Kurtz | Athletics | Control -5 | 86 |
| Bryce Miller | Mariners | Control +5, now 82 | 85 |
| Brandyn Garcia | Diamondbacks | Control +23, now 71 | 74 |
| Emmet Sheehan | Dodgers | Control +20, now 71 | 72 |
| Adrian Houser | Giants | Control -13, now 53 | 71 |
| Brendan Beck | Free Agents | OVR +6 | 62 |
The official update also lists five-point overall increases for Shaun Anderson, David Sandlin, Luis Perales, Yunior Tur, Bradley Blalock and Riley Cornelio. Those are all Common cards, so their rarity does not change.
Why do the 27 position changes matter?
Position changes affect where the current Live Series item appears in roster and squad contexts. The update moves Manuel Rodríguez, Jacob Webb and Keaton Winn to relief pitcher; Tyler Ferguson, Calvin Faucher and Dylan Smith to closer; and Shaun Anderson, David Sandlin, Luis Perales, Yunior Tur and Brendan Beck to starting pitcher.
Those are roster assignments, not a statement about how any card performs. Check the official update for the full position list and the current player page before making a squad or marketplace decision.
What should you check first?
If you follow Live Series roster movement, start with the eight new cards and the role changes that affect a player you use. Then compare the current player page with the official change list. There is no new rarity tier to chase from Update 21, and the source does not publish pack odds or a market result for these adjustments.
