The Michael Young Cornerstone Program ends with a free 99 OVR shortstop at 50 points. Complete all five moments, then add six extra-base hits and 2,375 PXP with any hitters to reach the reward without buying cards or playing online.
Quick answer: Five moments provide 30 points. The six-XBH mission and the 2,375-hitter-PXP mission are worth 10 points each, so the full listed path reaches exactly 50 points.
San Diego Studio added the Michael Young Cornerstone Program with the Aug. 28 content release. The program's final reward is 99 OVR Michael Young, a Cornerstone shortstop with secondary eligibility at first base, second base and third base.

How many points do you need for Michael Young?
You need all 50 points for Young. The complete standard path is seven tasks: five moments and two missions.
| Task | Points |
|---|---|
| Five Michael Young moments | 30 |
| Get six extra-base hits with any players | 10 |
| Earn 2,375 PXP with any hitters | 10 |
| Total | 50 |
The five moments are worth six points apiece. They reference Young's 2005 American League batting title, five straight 200-hit seasons, six straight All-Star selections, the Rangers retiring his No. 10 and his Rangers Cornerstone status.
The two missions list Ranked, Ranked Co-op, Battle Royale, Events, Weekend Classic, Play vs CPU, Mini Seasons, Conquest and Diamond Quest as eligible modes. That gives you an offline route if you prefer not to use a competitive mode.
The exact free route
- Finish all five moments for 30 points.
- Add six extra-base hits with any players for 10 points.
- Earn 2,375 PXP with any hitters for the final 10 points.
- Claim Michael Young at 50 points.
This is point math from the current task list. It does not predict how long the PXP or extra-base-hit requirements will take, and it does not require any collection lock-in or market purchase.

What does the 99 OVR card show?
Young's card lists 125 contact against both right-handed and left-handed pitching, 85 power against lefties and 86 against righties. It has 80 speed and can cover all four infield positions, with shortstop as its primary spot.
The defensive ratings on the card are 72 fielding, 88 arm strength, 78 arm accuracy and 66 reaction. Those are the stored card attributes, not a claim about how Young will play in a particular mode.
What should you do first?
Start with the moments because they supply 30 of the 50 required points. Then work the two any-player missions in any eligible mode you already plan to play. Once both mission totals are complete, the program reaches the exact threshold and no other task is needed.
