The Retro World Series Program gives you four 99 OVR Awards cards, ending with David Ortiz at 50 points. Finish ten moments and four team Parallel XP (PXP) missions to collect Ortiz, Bob Gibson, Tom Glavine and Brooks Robinson without buying cards or playing online.
The mission teams are Yankees, Cardinals, Rays and Brewers. Set up those four groups before starting your next eligible game, because each team has its own PXP target.
Quick answer: Ten moments give 30 points. Earn 270 PXP with Yankees, 110 with Cardinals, 2,026 with Rays and 2,026 with Brewers for the remaining 20. That reaches Ortiz’s 50-point reward exactly.
San Diego Studio released the program on October 23 alongside the 9th Inning content update. Find it under Assorted Programs, then Themed Programs, in Diamond Dynasty.
Which cards do you unlock?
All four player rewards are 99 OVR Awards cards celebrating World Series MVP seasons. You earn them in order rather than choosing one from a pack.
| Points | Reward | Additional XP |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | Brooks Robinson, 3B, Orioles | 1,000 |
| 20 | Tom Glavine, SP, Braves | 1,000 |
| 30 | Bob Gibson, SP, Cardinals | 1,000 |
| 40 | Deluxe Choice Pack | 1,000 |
| 50 | David Ortiz, 1B, Red Sox | 2,026 |
The reward path adds 6,026 regular XP in total. Those XP bonuses are separate from the 50 program points used to unlock rewards, and separate again from the PXP you earn with cards to complete missions.
You do not need to finish the whole program to collect Gibson. Completing all ten moments reaches his 30-point checkpoint. Ortiz requires the full 50, so stopping after the moments leaves the final card and Deluxe Choice Pack ahead of you.
The exact 50-point completion route
Each of the ten moments awards three points, for 30 altogether. The four missions award five points each, supplying the other 20. Every listed task contributes to that total, so the current route has no spare points that let you skip a moment or mission.
| Mission | Team PXP required | Program points |
|---|---|---|
| Yankees | 270 | 5 |
| Cardinals | 110 | 5 |
| Rays | 2,026 | 5 |
| Brewers | 2,026 | 5 |
| All four missions | 4,432 across the four teams | 20 |
The Cardinals requirement is 110 PXP with St. Louis players. Use the team on the card when assembling your squad. A player’s current real-world club is not a substitute for the team represented by the card you put in your lineup or pitching staff.
The 4,432 total is the sum of four separate targets. It is not a single mission you can complete entirely with one team. Earning extra Yankees PXP does not fill the Rays or Brewers requirement.
If you finish the moments first, the Yankees and Cardinals missions take you from 30 to 40 points, unlocking the Deluxe Choice Pack. Complete both 2,026-PXP missions to add the last ten points and reach Ortiz. You can also work on the missions before finishing the moments; the reward thresholds remain the same.
Can you finish it offline?
All four team missions list Play vs CPU, Mini Seasons, Conquest and Diamond Quest as eligible modes. Online options include 1 vs 1 Ranked, Ranked Co-op, Battle Royale, Events and Weekend Classic.
Pick an eligible mode that lets you use the cards you need. A mixed squad can give you Yankees and Cardinals options while you build PXP with Rays and Brewers players. Check each mission’s progress separately before replacing those cards.
The missions ask for team PXP, with no requirement to use the new Awards rewards. Existing cards representing the four named teams can contribute. That means you can begin the missions before earning Robinson, Glavine or Gibson, and you do not need to acquire Ortiz to complete his own program.
This program has its own progress. If you still have the Retro Championship Series Program unfinished, check its team requirements separately before building a squad for both. Do not assume finishing one Retro program completes another.
What does the new Ortiz card offer?
Ortiz’s 2013 Awards card bats left-handed and has first base as its primary position. His contact is 125 against both right-handed and left-handed pitching, with 112 power against righties, 118 against lefties and 125 batting clutch.

Card attributes

First-Pitch Hitter: Excels at hitting the first pitch of an at-bat
Dead Red: Excels at hitting fastballs

Community Market
The defensive numbers give you another part of the lineup decision: 44 fielding and 35 speed. Compare those with your current first baseman alongside the hitting attributes. Ortiz is a No Sell reward, so completing the program earns the card for your squad rather than a card you can list on the Community Market.
Start with the moments if you want Gibson at 30 points first. For Ortiz, keep cards from all four mission teams available and finish the entire 50-point path. No card collection or exchange is part of the listed completion requirements.
